CHAMPIONSHIP PARADE TUESDAY, JUNE 10
06/09/2014 - 12:15pm

(June 6, 2014)… The Rochester Knighthawks will hold a 2014 NLL Championship Parade on Tuesday, June 10th at 11:45 a.m. The procession will start at The Blue Cross Arena and end at City Hall on Church Street. Knighthawks Owner and General Manager Curt Styres will then receive a proclamation from the City of Rochester.

The players and staff will transport the Cup through the streets in a caravan of vehicles. Fans can wear the latest Knighthawks gear to the parade by purchasing the 2014 Championship T-shirt and hat at the Team Store, which will be open Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Fans can also buy championship merchandise Tuesday night at the Knighthawks’ Championship Celebration at the Radisson Hotel Rochester Riverside (120 East Main St.). The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Riverside Room from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Fans can get autographs from the players and have their pictures taken with the Champion’s Cup.

With the 3-2 victory over the Calgary Roughnecks on May 31st, Rochester became the first team to win three straight NLL titles. The Knighthawks also secured a spot in local sports history, becoming the first team in Rochester to earn a three-peat. The Championship was the fifth in the team’s 20 seasons of professional lacrosse.

The Knighthawks erased a 1-0 series deficit by downing the Roughnecks 16-10 in Game Two of the Championship Series. Immediately following the game, the teams played a 10-minute mini-game. After trailing 2-0 with under three minutes to play, the Knighthawks scored three goals in 1:15 to edge Calgary 3-2. Craig Point scored the game-winning goal with under a minute to play, and goalie Matt Vinc made a save with one second to play to preserve the win.

Season tickets for the 2015 season are currently on sale at the Knighthawks Office at 144 Exchange Blvd., Suite 102, or by calling (585) 454-HAWK (4295).
