(February 19, 2014)... The Rochester Knighthawks toppled the Toronto Rock in a 17-9 victory on Saturday at the Air Canada Centre to improve their record to 5-2. (Photo by Brian Thompson)

Dan Dawson and Cody Jamieson combined for 20 points and led the Knighthawks to win their highest-scoring game of the season. Dawson tied his career high with 10 assists and passed the 600-assist mark in the process. Jamieson also hit a few milestones by tying his single-game best with five goals and set a new mark with 10 points.

This was a game of reaching and surpassing milestones, as Stephen Keogh added seven points (4+3) to tie his single-game goal mark and set a new personal record for points in a game.  In the process, Keogh reached 100 career points. Rochester native Joe Walters recorded his first National Lacrosse League hat trick against the Rock. Mike Accursi also moved into a third-place tie on the team’s all-time points list (363) after a one-point game on Saturday.

Defensively, Dylan Evans had quite a game for the Knighthawks, helping the back-to-back World Champions come out with the win. Evans recorded two assists, a career-high 13 loose balls, and won 67 percent of his faceoffs. Matt Vinc was also stellar in goal, allowing only nine goals on 54 shots by the Rock.

The Knighthawks plan to take this momentum to Calgary this Saturday, February 22nd as they take on the Roughnecks at the Scotiabank Saddledome. The Knighthawks hold a 4-3 all-time record against the Roughnecks. In their last meeting on April 13th, the Knighthawks won 15-14 over the Roughnecks in Calgary.

The top two performers offensively for the Knighthawks against Calgary were Dawson and Jamieson.  Dawson put up 11 points for the Knighthawks, with three goals and eight assists, while Jamieson recorded another nine (3+6) for the team. Both are coming off of strong performances against Toronto, so they may very well be threats to the Roughnecks’ defense this weekend.

The game in Calgary will be streamed live on The Lacrosse Network’s YouTube channel at 9:00 p.m. and broadcast live via Sportsradio 950 ESPN and

Milestone Watch
• Scott Self needs four games to reach 200 in his career.
• Ian Llord needs four games to reach 100 in his career.
• Joel McCready is riding a career-high 12-game goal-scoring streak.
