Player of the Week: Joel McCready
07/09/2013 - 9:32pm

By Kelsey Clark - Rochester Knighthawks Joel McCready is the subject of the third Player of the Week feature on Knighthawks.com. Fans can find out what the 25-year-old loves about Rochester and what his pregame ritual entails.

Q. What’s the best meal you can cook?
A. I'm a fan of the grill, so meat and potatoes is a go to meal for me. A nice steak on a sunny day is great.

Q. When the remote is in your hand what is playing on the TV?
A. I really don't watch much TV, but a friend got me into the show Workaholics. It's hilarious.

Q. What occupies your time when you’re not playing lacrosse?
A. When I'm not playing I'm usually at work, but I really enjoy getting by the lake or ocean and being outside. I like to fish and swim so I'm lucky to live where I do.

Q. You have a tee time for 4 people…who do you bring with you?
A. That would be a fun day. I’d have to bring my little brother Jaker, Dillon and my Uncle Pat. I don't know how much serious golfing would get done but it sure would be a good time.

Q. What’s the song currently playing on your iPod/phone?
A. I jump all over when it comes to music, but right now I'm in country mode, probably Eric Church or Billy Currington.

Q. What’s your favorite thing about Rochester?
A. I love coming to Rochester. I have so many good memories with great people. I have formed so many friendships that it's just a great place to go for me, but it's pretty much standard to grab a Tres Hombres from Dinosaur Bar-B-Que when I'm in town. Also I like going to the Stock Exchange Restaurant and I would like to say thanks for all the support!!

Q. What would your last meal consist of?
A. Wow, I don't think I've ever thought that far ahead, but I guess if it was my last meal we could have anything as long as I had my friends and family around. Chicken and ribs with loud music and sunshine.

Q.  What actor would play you if your life was made into a movie? And why?
A. That's a tough question. I'm not too sure. Maybe Will Ferrell in Old School. I’m a big fan of his work.

Q. Do you have any pregame rituals? If so, what are they?
A. I try to find a good soup and sandwich somewhere and then a nice afternoon nap is usually the routine for me. This interview makes me miss the season!!

Q. Feel free to add anything else you want fans to know about you, or something they would find interesting.
A. I also want to add on a thank you to Rochester, the organization and the fans as a whole!!  This season was the high point of my career thus far! I cannot say thank you enough!
