VOTE FOR PLAY OF THE YEAR
07/08/2013 - 4:25pm

(July 8, 2013)... Throughout the season, fans have been asked to vote for their favorite play from each weekend for the Rochester Knighthawks' Play of the Week. Now, the 16 winners from each week of the 2013 championship season are going head-to-head for the right to be named the Knighthawks' Play of the Year. The Play of the Week winners have been divided into four regions - Defense, Behind-the-Back Goals, Crafty Helpers and Playmakers. It will be up to the voters to decide with plays advance from the round of 16 and attempt to earn the title as the top play from 2013.

This week, Cody Jamieson's impression of the "Air Gait" squares of against Stephen Keogh's goal he scored while lying on the ground. In the Week #11 loss to Edmonton, Jamieson wowed the crowd with a great individual effort. He leaped from behind the crease and dunked the ball in from behind using a move fellow Syracuse standout Gait Gait might recognize.

Jamieson's opponent this week is Stephen Keogh, another graduate of the storied Syracuse Orange lacrosse program. Against Philadelphia in the first round of the playoffs, Keogh charged to the net to recover a loose ball after a blocked shot from Johnny Powless. With defenseman Brett Manney draped over his back, Keogh stumbled to the ground, but managed to fire the ball past goaltender Brandon Miller from his stomach.

Watch both saves closely and vote for the play you would like to see advance to the Elite 8 in the Knighthawks' 2013 Play of the Year Showdown. One fan who votes for the winning play will be selected to receive a free Knighthawks prize.  Check back to Knighthawks.com on Friday, July 12th when the winning play from this match-up will be revealed.

Voting for this match-up is now over.
