FANS SELECT ANOTHER P.O.T.Y. WINNER
07/06/2013 - 2:17pm

(July 6, 2013)... The polls have closed on the third installment of the Rochester Knighthawks 2013 Play of the Year Showdown. Fans have selected the third play to move on from the Round of 16 to the Elite 8, moving one step closer to being crowned the best play from the championship season.

From the Crafty Helpers Region, the trio of passes resulting in Craig Point's hat trick goal on April 20th trumped Casey Powell's behind-the-back assist to Stephen Keogh on January 19th. The winning goal was set up by a behind-the-back pass from Dan Dawson to Mike Accursi, who then found Cody Jamieson with a desparation pass from his back. "Jammer" then fired a laser to Point on the crease, who finished the play with a goal. The tick-tack-toe passes earned 58% of the votes.

Congratulations also go out to Kelly Bailey from Rochester, N.Y., who voted for the winning play. Kelly will receive an autographed 8 x 10 photo. Remember, one fan who votes for the winning play each week will  receive a prize, so keep voting!

The fourth matchup in the first round of the Play of the Year Showdown will pair Jamieson's "Air Gait" goal against Edmonton from Week #11 against the goal Keogh scored from his stomach against Philadelphia in the Divisional Semifinals. Voting for the next matchup begins Monday here on Knighthawks.com
