He was the Rochester Knighthawks’ first-round selection (fifth overall) in the 2011 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft... The pick was acquired from Calgary in a draft day trade that sent Shawn Evans and a first rounder in the 2012 draft to the Roughnecks.


He is in his third season in the NLL and third with the Knighthawks… Won back-to-back Champion’s Cups (2012-13)… In 2013, he was fourth on the team in goals (22) and points (41)… Fourth on the team in playoff points... Played in three Major Series Lacrosse games with the Six Nations Chiefs in 2012… In 2013, he was second in Junior “A” lacrosse in points (104)… Was named a First Team All-Star, and the winner of the Jim Veltman Award as the Most Outstanding Player and the Dean McIntosh Award as the Junior "A" MVP… In 2012, he was ninth in Junior “A” lacrosse with 77 points in just 14 games; tied for seventh in playoff points… Named a First Team All-Star… From 2010-11, Powless had an incredible two-year run in junior lacrosse, amassing 111 goals and 69 assists for 180 points in just 43 games… In 2011, he won the Gaylord Powless Award as the Junior “A” Most Sportsmanlike Player… He was also named a Second Team All-Star as he finished fourth in Junior “A” scoring… Powless recorded 65 goals and was fourth with 102 points… He was tied for fourth in playoff goals (22) and was fifth in points (45)… The forward won the Joe Nieuwendyk Award as the 2010 Junior "A" Rookie of the Year after recording 78 points as a 17 year old… Played for the Iroquois Nationals at the 2012 U-19 World Lacrosse Championships… In 2009, he played in 13 games with the Six Nations Jr. "B" Rebels, scoring three times while adding eight helpers as he split his time with the Six Nations Midgets and the Rebels… In 2009, he led the Team Iroquois Midget National Team to a gold medal, while winning tournament MVP honors.
