K-Hawks to assist Coaches vs. Cancer fundraiser --
(February 20, 2013)… The Rochester Knighthawks have teamed up with the American Cancer Society to help raise awareness and money for cancer research and patient programs. The Knighthawks have gotten involved with the cause by taking part in the Coaches vs. Cancer Flower City Cup, presented by Canandaigua National Bank & Trust.
"We are excited the Knighthawks and local lacrosse coaches are joining in the fight against cancer," said Michelle Vercruysse, Special Event Manger for the American Cancer Society. "The Coaches are truly influential celebrities within their communities; they can reach fans and players, sharing important information about reducing the risk of cancer by encouraging healthy lifestyle choice."
“The Knighthawks are always happy to support any organizations that raise funds for local charities in our community,” said Knighthawks President Lewis Staats. “We are especially proud to support the Flower City Cup in their efforts to raise funds in the fight against cancer. The organizers and participants are also helping the Knighthawks achieve one of our goals, which is to grow the game of lacrosse in our community, so supporting this worthwhile event is a win for everyone.”
