12/21/2012 - 9:41pm

(Rochester, December 22)… The Rochester Knighthawks announced the addition of former National Lacrosse League MVP Casey Powell for the team’s Youth Lacrosse Clinic. Kids can learn the game from Knighthawks veteran, as well as Nazareth Head Lacrosse Coach Rob Randall, and Pittsford Varsity Coach Andrew Whipple.

“I am looking forward to getting back to Rochester and working with the next generation of NLL stars,” said Powell. “It’s exciting to work with kids who are eager to learn about this great sport.”

The clinic runs from Thursday, December 27th to Friday, December 28th from 10:00 a.m. to noon at Brighton Sports Zone. The clinic makes a great holiday gift for kids that want to improve their lacrosse skills. The clinic caters to boys ages 7-14 and covers grades one through six, and modified and junior varsity levels.

The cost is only $69 (Goalies $39) and includes two hours per session and a FREE Knighthawks ticket for the Saturday, January 19th home opener against the Buffalo Bandits. Additional tickets for friends and family are available for only $10.

Powell enters his 10th season in the NLL in 2013 and third with the Knighthawks. In 119 games, he has 254 goals and 341 assists for 595 points. He is a six-time All-Pro and became the first American to win the league’s MVP award in 2010. Powell, a four-time college All-American at Syracuse, was a three-time MLL Champion and a four-time All-Star.
